I would argue that the mainstream media, and the education system, are far from truly diverse. While I would imagine that most companies attempt to hire the best candidate, I have personally managed a few companies that intentionally hire specific amounts of “minority” employees to receive federal tax breaks (EEOC Credits). In American Society today, I believe we are more focused on instant gratification as opposed to delayed gratification. This is mainly effected, in my opinion, by the media with their fast food, minute dinners, hour photo and while you wait oil changes.
